Polyurea Primer Flex: Primer for PVC and EPDM Roofs and Asphalt Felt
Polyurea Primer Flex is a fast-curing, cold-applied two-component pure polyurea primer for PVC and EPDM roofs, asphalt felt and other flexible substrates.
- Product: Polyurea Primer Flex
- Application: primer for waterproofing membranes
- Mix: A=100 : B=10 by weight / A=100 : B=11 by volume
- Consumption: 200–400 g/m²
01 · Uses
Where a primer for PVC and EPDM roofs is needed
- Adhesion layer on flexible substrates (PVC, EPDM, asphalt felt and similar), except polyolefins.
- Renewal of these substrates with liquid-applied membranes, especially hot-applied ones.
Planning the new membrane? Compare hot-spray vs cold-applied systems. For rigid, porous substrates, use Polyurea Primer.
02 · Application
Substrate requirements and mixing
The substrate needs a cohesion of at least 1.5 MPa and compressive strength of at least 25 MPa. It must be completely free of water and water vapour, with moisture below 4%, and clean of oil, grease, cured product and anything that could hinder adhesion. On fresh concrete or mortar, wait at least 21 days.
Stir component A mechanically at low speed for about 2 minutes to avoid air intake, pour in component B and mix the same way for 2 minutes, then transfer to a larger container to check nothing is left unmixed.
Pot life is long enough to apply the resin on top when consumption is higher; in theory aggregate can be broadcast onto it if humidity does not exceed 80%.

- Adhesion to concrete: >5 N/mm² (EN 13892-8)

04 · Performance
Polyurea Primer Flex performance
It cures to a flexible solid membrane of 75A, with 540% maximum elongation, a tensile stress of 19 MPa, adhesion to concrete above 5 N/mm² (EN 13892-8) and thermal stability up to 80 °C.
Curing time depends strongly on conditions: the higher the temperature and humidity, the faster it cures and the shorter the working time. It is aromatic, so it yellows in sunlight without any effect on its mechanical properties.
