Water Park Waterproofing Camargue: Camping L'Eden, France
This water park waterproofing Camargue project lined the water park at Camping L’Eden, in the south of France. In 2025 its 400 m² of basins were sealed with the Rayston Proof Pool system: Rayston Epoxy 100, Polyurea Rayston and Paintchlore 2K.

The Camargue is the delta of the Rhône on France’s Mediterranean coast: wetlands, salt flats, white horses and pink flamingos, much of it a protected regional nature park.
Krypton Chemical was trusted to line the water park at Camping L’Eden before the season. On a site that lives from a few summer months, the pools simply have to be ready on time and stay watertight all season. That is exactly what a sprayed polyurea system is built for.
02 · Challenge
What did the Camping L'Eden water park need?
The water park at Camping L’Eden has several basins, slide landings and a footbridge, 400 m² in all. Each basin has corners, steps and edges. A lining laid in rolls would need many cut joints, and every joint is a possible leak under water.
Also, pool water holds chlorine all season long, and the lining sits under it day and night. So it must stay watertight in constant immersion and keep its colour. Finally, a seasonal site needs a lining that goes back into service fast.

03 · Solution
Why the Rayston Proof Pool system for these basins?
Rayston Proof Pool is a hot-applied system for pools on concrete. It gives a fully continuous membrane with no seams or overlaps, sprayed to follow every corner and step. It also bridges cracks in the concrete, so a hairline crack in a basin does not become a leak.
In addition, its chemical resistance allows permanent contact with chlorinated and salt water. The system has three layers. First, Rayston Epoxy 100 seals and primes the concrete. Then Polyurea Rayston forms the waterproof membrane. Finally, Paintchlore 2K, an aliphatic topcoat, gives a glossy pool finish that resists chlorinated water and does not yellow.
04 · Application
How is the Rayston Proof Pool system applied, step by step?
A pool lining is only as good as the concrete under it, so preparation takes most of the time. The sequence is as follows.
- Check the concrete. It must be cured for more than 28 days, with humidity below 4% and no rising damp. Its strength should exceed 1.5 N/mm², because the lining will pull on it under water.
- Prepare the surface. The concrete is sandblasted or diamond-ground to open it. Then all dust is removed and any cracks are repaired.
- Prime. Next, Rayston Epoxy 100 goes on at about 0.5 kg/m², two coats on walls and one on floors. It seals the concrete so no air or moisture rises into the membrane.
- Check the weather. Air should be between 10 °C and 40 °C, with humidity below 85%. The primer must be fully cured before spraying.
- Hot-spray the membrane. Polyurea Rayston runs at 65 °C (A), 75 °C (B) and at least 140 bar. As a rule, about 2 kg/m² goes on.
- Apply the topcoat. Paintchlore 2K follows between 2 and 12 hours after the polyurea, for the best bond. As a rule, 250 g/m² goes on in two coats.
After that, the membrane resists rain about 10 minutes after spraying, at 25 °C. The full system is about 2 to 2.8 mm thick. However, the Paintchlore 2K topcoat needs at least 7 days before it is fully water-resistant. So the basins are filled only after that, which is why the work is planned well before opening day.
05 · Results
What does the water park waterproofing in the Camargue deliver?
As a result, the basins at Camping L’Eden carry one seamless lining from primer to topcoat, across every basin, slide channel and step. As typical data, Polyurea Rayston reaches crack bridging class A5 at −10 °C and bonds to primed concrete at 4.0 MPa. So the lining follows the concrete through winter cold and stays bonded under water pressure in summer.
Overall, this water park waterproofing Camargue job shows how one system can line many basin shapes. See also water park waterproofing in Greece and pool waterproofing in Almansa.

07 · FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How long before a pool lined with polyurea can be filled?
The membrane resists rain about 10 minutes after spraying, but the Paintchlore 2K topcoat needs at least 7 days to become water-resistant. Basins are filled after that.
Does the lining resist chlorine?
Yes. Paintchlore 2K resists chlorinated water even in permanent immersion, and Polyurea Rayston is rated 5 out of 5 in salt water for 15 days at 80 °C.
How thick is the pool system?
About 2 to 2.8 mm in total: epoxy primer, about 2 kg/m² of Polyurea Rayston and 250 g/m² of Paintchlore 2K in two coats.
Why spray a membrane instead of laying a liner?
A sprayed membrane has no seams or overlaps, so it follows corners, steps and slide landings without a single joint.
What does the concrete need before lining?
At least 28 days of curing, humidity below 4%, no rising damp and a strength above 1.5 N/mm². It is then sandblasted or ground and primed.
Does the topcoat yellow in the sun?
No. Paintchlore 2K is an aliphatic polyurethane, stable to yellowing and chalking.
