Paintchlore 2K ceramic pool over Polyurea Rayston

Cutaway of a ceramic pool with Paintchlore 2K layers numbered 1 to 4 over tiles, primer, membrane and white finish under water

Engineer notes. Not a blog. A Paintchlore 2K ceramic pool is a chlorinated-water finish on a named polyurea. It is not a generic pool paint.

Write a Paintchlore 2K ceramic pool as a named kit. Krypton magazine NUM.3 (March 2023) waterproofs a leaking private pool in Almansa, Albacete, at 110 m². Primer Epoxy 100 (two-component epoxy primer) is rolled airless. Polyurea Rayston (hot-spray 100% pure polyurea) is the intermediate membrane. Paintchlore 2K (two-component acrylic polyurethane hybrid, aliphatic isocyanate) is the finish. Therefore the specifier writes commercial name and chemical type in the same sentence.

What a Paintchlore 2K ceramic pool actually is

Catalogue 2024 prints Paintchlore 2K as a highly cross-linked aliphatic hybrid. Once cured it is a continuous coat with mechanical, UV and chemical resistance, including salt water and chlorinated water. It is resistant to continuous immersion, even chlorinated. It is always supplied coloured. A minimum of two crossed layers covers the previous coat. White is the colour that does not bleach under excess chlorine.

However, Paintchlore (one-component aliphatic polyurethane) is a different liquid. Do not swap the 1K name onto this 2K pool. Also, do not move Colodur Eco (water-based aliphatic polyurethane) from a floor onto chlorinated immersion. Polyurea Rayston remains the body. Paintchlore 2K remains the finish. Do not invent kg/m².

How to schedule a Paintchlore 2K ceramic pool

First, name the existing ceramic as the substrate. Then name Primer Epoxy 100 and Polyurea Rayston in the same clause. After that, name Paintchlore 2K as the chlorinated-water finish. In addition, size the area on the calculator once the current TDS is read.

See Paintchlore 2K, Polyurea Rayston, swimming pools and documents. Area is sized on the calculator.

Outbound reference: CEN-CENELEC — EN 1504-2.

A pool colour is not a specification. Keep Paintchlore 2K and the aliphatic hybrid in one sentence. Then send the applicator to the current sheet.

Therefore consumption, mix and overcoat stay on the TDS. A number invented here would be a specification error. First open documents. Next name the primer. After that name the membrane and the finish on the same clause.

These notes do not replace the current TDS, SDS or a written specification. For pack sizes, mix ratio and kg/m², read the current sheet, then the calculator.
