Asbestos encapsulation ETA on Impermax 2K and Rayston X5

Workers in blue suits spraying a silver polyurea membrane on a corrugated industrial roof for asbestos encapsulation

Engineer notes. Not a blog. An asbestos encapsulation ETA is a named kit. It is not a licence to skip the aliphatic finish.

Cite an asbestos encapsulation ETA on the membrane that carries the mark. Catalogue 2024 writes Impermax 2K (two-component biobased polyurethane) with ETA 10/0296, 25 years (W3), a root-penetration certificate and a certificate of asbestos-fibre encapsulation. Polyurea Rayston X5 (expandable polyurea) also prints an asbestos encapsulation certificate. The waterproofing catalogue names a Mallorca fibre-cement roof at 1,500 m² and cites ETA 06/0263 on the Impermax 1K family for a 10- or 25-year encapsulation procedure. Therefore the specifier does not transfer a mark from a floor body.

01

What an asbestos encapsulation ETA actually covers

Impermax 2K is a fast-curing two-component biobased polyurethane able to bridge fissures. Applications in Catalogue 2024 include general waterproofing, concrete and metal, parking-deck roofs, green roofs and asbestos encapsulation. It requires a final aliphatic protective coating. Polyurea Rayston X5 expands to several times its volume and is written for irregular dry supports including corrugated metal and fibre-cement. It too must be protected with an aliphatic top coat where the sheet says so.

However, encapsulation is not removal. The catalogue procedure is cleaning, encapsulation and waterproofing of fibre-cement so that activities in the building are not interrupted. Do not move WRAS from Polyurea Rayston (pure polyurea) onto this roof. Also, do not invent kg/m². UNI 10686 sits on the Foam Aluminium magazine card, not automatically on this note.

How to write an asbestos encapsulation ETA

First, name fibre-cement as the support. Then name Impermax 2K or Polyurea Rayston X5 with the chemical type in the same sentence. After that, name the aliphatic finish on the current TDS. In addition, size the area on the calculator once the sheet is read.

See Impermax 2K, Polyurea Rayston X5, asbestos encapsulation and documents. Area is sized on the calculator.

A fibre-cement photograph is not a mark. Keep each ETA on the membrane Catalogue 2024 prints it on.

Therefore consumption, mix and overcoat stay on the TDS. A number invented here would be a specification error. First open documents. Next name the primer. After that name the membrane and the aliphatic finish.

These notes do not replace the current TDS, SDS or a written specification. For pack sizes, mix ratio and kg/m², read the current sheet, then the calculator.
